Mirdif ready mix for villas, extensions and shopfronts

Mirdif is built out. New concrete goes into private villas being rebuilt or extended and into small community retail, on streets lined with neighbours who are home during the day.

A 22 km trip changes the mix

Mirdif is one of the further districts from our Al Quoz plant, about 22 km in a straight line, with Tripoli Street and Airport Road as the usual approaches. Concrete starts to stiffen from the moment water meets cement, and summer heat speeds it up.

So for Mirdif we set the retarder dose for the trip and for the hour of the pour, and aim the slump at what you need on arrival, not at the plant gate. If you expect a wait before the pump is ready, tell us when you book.

The structure of a villa rebuild

A typical villa rebuild starts with blinding under pad and strip footings, then ground beams and a ground slab in the substructure mix. Above that come columns, beams and a roof slab in the superstructure mix. The ground in Mirdif is inland, so exposure is usually moderate, but follow what the consultant writes.

A villa roof slab of 45 m³ is four trucks. Ordering the last load short is common; tell us the measured volume after the pump has started and we will batch the balance.

Extensions often tie into an existing slab. The engineer will specify dowels or a construction joint detail; pour against it cleanly, with the old face wetted and free of dust, so the new concrete bonds instead of curling away.

Neighbours and narrow streets

Inland residential streets limit where a mixer can stand and when it can run. Check working-hour rules with the community or the authority before booking. A pump with a 43 m boom set on the road can reach over a boundary wall and keep trucks off the neighbour's driveway. Interior floors in extensions then take a screed to bring finishes to level.

Community retail units need ground slabs that take shop fittings and trolleys, so a stiffer finish and proper curing are worth the extra day.

Questions from Mirdif sites

Can you deliver early in the morning in Mirdif?
Our plant runs 24/7. Whether the pour can start early depends on local working-hour rules, so check with the community or your consultant first.
Do I need a pump for a villa roof slab?
Almost always. A boom pump places concrete over the roof edge quickly and evenly, which a crane and skip cannot match on volume.
Which mix goes under the footings?
Blinding, a lean layer that keeps the reinforcement clean and gives a level base before the substructure mix is placed.
